DEMODEMOKRACITY is a brand new programme of Kava, a unique board- and role game. The participating children or young people set themselves into political reality through the establishment of an imaginary political party and an imaginary city. In the course of this simulation, groups are working on a political project. The participants can experience that in a democratic society consultation, debate and consensus are essential tools and everyone’s vote counts in a decision-making process. Our programme is the adaptation of a unique board game of the Belvue Museum from Brussels, which we intend to develop and disseminate in Hungary. We use the game with the permission of the King Baudouin Foundation.
It is our plan to work out special Demokracity packages, so the school classes or other groups interested in the programme can choose the length and complexity of the session they want to attend.
The introduction and dissemination of Demokracity is preceded by test games with both adults and children, and by the training of quizmasters.
