Theatre in education

In the morning, during school time a class from a primary or secondary school arrives to visit our company. The young people take part in a two or three hours long theatre programme, where the teacher of the class gets an observing role. The TIE group “leads the children through a performance” using theatrical elements. Here the children are not only observers, but at some points, also the writers of the story created through thinking, analysing, compressing, transforming and in many cases by means of performing certain situations.
Apart from the aesthetic experience such a programme can provide, it may also give the participants a chance to experience the pleasure of thinking together.
The theatre in education programmes analyse moral, micro- and macro social problems. The method uses theatre as a tool to find ways to a deeper understanding of issues.
Our programmes provide the participants with the pleasure of discovery, where they can learn something important about themselves and the world around them.

Our programmes are approximately180 minutes long. Participation for the schools is free of charge, we operate with the help of national and international financial support. Planned number of programmes in this season is 113 TIE sessions.
